Drying system
SEMI-STAAL offers two alternate systems for drying crates, pallets, tubs/ containers and bins: the blow-off drying system and the drying tunnel.
The blow-of drying system
The “blow off system” is supplied in different versions based on drying criteria and required capacity. Depending on the crate/ pallet design this system can remove up to 97% of the water on the object. The system works in the following way:
A compressor sucks in large air quantaties passes it over a filter and distribute it to special designed mouth pieces. The filters and the machine design assures that only warm and clean air is used to dry the objects. The combination of the gab of the mouthpieces and the size of the compressor yields an air speed of 270 km/ hour. Hence, the mouth pieces works as air knives which scrabe off the water from the objects as they pass.
The drying system is normally delivered with closed bottom to catch the blown off water which is led back to the washing machine for re-use.
Hot air drying tunnel
For customers who require 100% dry objects (crates, forms, pallets, tubs / containers) a hot air drying tunnel is used – eventually combined with a blow-of drying system. The hot air drying tunnel can be delivered in many versions depending on job, degree of dryness and capacity required.
The tunnel is used for drying of rest water by means of re-circulating ducted hot air around the objects. The saturated air is renewed at intervals by means of an exhaust ventilator controlled by a humidity sensor. The air can heated by means of steam, hot water or electrically.
