SEMI-STAAL wins large contract in Norway

SEMI-STAAL wins a large project for a full automatic washing plant and internal logistic system for crates with a leading meat processor in Norway.

A project involving more than 4.000 man hours for bulding a full automatic crate handling, – washing and transport system for 3.000 crates/ hour is currently under construction at SEMI-STAAL’s premises in Elsingore, Denmark.

The project entails the following functions:

- Depalletizing of crates
- De-stacking of crates
- Orientation of crates
- Washing of crates through a 4 stage HACCP designed washer with
automatic belt filter systems and high pressure section for label removal
- Drying of crates
- Feeding of crates to packing stations or stacking and palletizing of
crates

The plant is scheduled for installation Febuary 2011.

SEMI-STAAL to deliver a high capacity pallet washing system in 2011 to SWISSLOG

For one of the largest dairy projects in Scandinavia, where SWISSLOG is the project leader, SEMI-STAAL is to deliver a full automatic pallet washing system for 200 pallets/ hour. The system will be integrated into SWISSLOG’s conveyoring system

SEMI-STAAL’s pallet washing system consists of:

– Interface with SWISSLOG’s conveyors where SEMI-STAAL elevates
pallets from height 500mm to 1.300mm by means of an elevator
– One section pallet washing system with integrated brushing of pallets
– Drying system
– Elevator system to bring pallets from height 1.300mm to 500mm and
subsequent interface with SWISSLOG’s conveyors

The pallet washer is equipped with a plate heating system for heating the lye water. This heating system is the most heat efficient system which SEMI-STAAL applies whenever possible.

Danish Crown chose SEMI-STAAL for a high capacity washing plant

SEMI-STAAL is to supply a 3.000 crate/ hour washing and drying plant for Danish Crown in Germany. The installation is scheduled for summer 2011.

The double lane washing machine consists of a: pre-rinse section, lye section, hot rinse section, high pressure label removal section and a final disinfection rinse.

Each of the four sections is equipped with 4 automatic belt filters and tube filters to guarantee high performance filtration.

Based on hygienic machine design, machine reliability and accessibility and proved track record within Danish Crown organization SEMI-STAAL was awarded the contract.

SEMI-STAAL wins contract for a full automatic washing system for 100 bins/ hour

SEMI-STAAL wins an order for a full automatic washing plant for Vemag bins to the largest charcuterie in Northern Europe.

SEMI-STAAL is going to deliver a full automatic HACCP designed installation for washing and desinfication of approx. 100 Vemag bins/hour.

The installation consists of:
– Infeed conveyor which transports the bins to a turning station
– Turning station that takes the bin from floor level and turns them to
an upside down position on infeed conveyor
– Pre-rinse section with automatic belt filter
– Lye section with inside and outside wash of the bins
– Rinsing section with inside and outside rins of the bins
– Disinfection of bins
– Accumulation of bins for drying
– Turning device that takes the bins from the outfeed conveyor and
turns them with the upside up on floor level

The installation is designed to meet the customer’s very high demands on bacteriological cleanness and hygenic machine design. The installation is connected to the company’s main SCADA system where records on operational temperature, pressure, capacity are logged.
The machine is equipped with touch screen HMI and the control system is based on Siemens S7.

SEMI-STAAL wins historic contract in the Middle East

Spring 2011 SEMI-STAAL will deliver a large full automatic tub washing and storage system to a world leading player in the fishing industry in the Middle East.

Through an intensive dialogue an “in line” solution was developed which can wash and handle tubs as well as lids for the tubs. The system includes the following functions: In line transport of tubs/lids to pre-wash section, wash, after rinse, turning of tubs 180°, stacking and storage. The system is designed with a washing capacity of 45 units/hour and storage capacity of 400 tubs/lids.

The system is built up so that the washing capacity later on can be doubled to 90 tubs/hour with a down time of approx. 24 hours.

The system is further designed with focus on minimum fresh water consumption, which is a very expensive resource in the Middle East. All water from the pre-wash function is taken from the sea (salt water). This water is filtrated/cleaned before redischared into the sea. The consumption of fresh water is thus reduced to an absolute minimum by re-using the after rinse water in the washing section.

SEMI-STAAL wins a contract with a leading Egyptian food processor for a 3 level vertical lift system for pallets with loads up to 1 ton.

The customer needed a fast, realiable and efficient internal transport system for their raw materials and finished goods. In collaboration with the customer a solution for two full automatic hoist systems with automatic infeed and discharge conveyors were developed. The two hoist systems are planned for in during July/ August 2010.
